Movie Music Monday: Ghostbusters

Fabulous! Freaky! Funny!

Not only is Ghostbusters (1984) a cool ghost story, it's like an extended Saturday Night Live skit with the "not ready for prime time" superstars, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd! ROCK ON, DUDES!

  1. One of my favorite 80's movies for sure! There's a great book on the making of that includes the original script with the ad libs pencilled in - fascinating to see how much of the really funny stuff came up off the top of somebody's head. I love the song too - a truly catchy pop song. Did you know Huey Lewis sued because he thought the song sounded too much like his group's 'I Want a New Drug?' He won and I believe now shares writing credit on the song. Ray Parker Jr turned out to be a one hit wonder, but his one hit is a good one! Cheers!

  2. Craig: Yikes! I had no idea about the Huey Lewis "news." So many songs sound alike though. I guess Huey had a good lawyer.
