It's April and that means the A to Z Blogging Challenge!
This year my theme is film terms.
An extra is a person who appears in a movie in a non-specific, non-speaking, unnoticed, or unrecognized character role, such as part of a crowd or background.
They are often used in restaurant scenes, battles scenes and city street scenes.
When Harry Met Sally (1989) |
Saving Private Ryan (1998) |
Groundhog Day (1993) |
Forrest Gump (1994) |
It's fun being an extra ("background talent") in films, but I think the funnest time was when I was an extra in a TV commercial for a local theme park (Lagoon). I rode one rollercoaster seven times in a row as they shot from different angles. The gal next to me got a migraine from it, but I was begging for more.
