X is for boX

Welcome to the 2015 A to Z Blogging Challenge! Each day for the month of April I will be posting alphabetically from A to Z and my theme is Wyoming.

As a Wyoming writer myself, I'm embarrassed to say I've never read C. J. Box. I have repented and am now reading my first Box novel "Nowhere to Run." WOW --- I can't put it down. Living in Wyoming, I'm pretty excited about the familiar places in Wyoming where his stories are set. "Nowhere to Run" is part of Box's Joe Pickett series. Joe is a game warden in Wyoming and the stories are mystery/crime dramas with a western flair.

Have you ever read a C.J. Box novel?

  1. I have not - and I am going to give you a blogger's poke for using the last letter - but only until I need to - then it's perfectly fine... ;)

  3. I've never heard of C.J. Box. Does one need to read the series in sequence, or does each novel stand alone?

    1. I had already started reading when I learned the books are written in order as far as the ages of Joe's kids and family situation. However each book is a separate mystery and works just fine on its own.

    1. J.L., I don't usually read mysteries, so I hadn't tackled Box. But I do like stories set in Wyoming and I love how the setting is like a character in the stories.

  5. Not heard of him, but it's fun reading local authors who write well!

    1. Courtney: I didn't realize we have so many Wyoming writers. I'm going to the Wyoming Writers Conference in June and will get to meet some in person.
