P is for Polaroid

Welcome to the 2013 A to Z Blogging Challenge!
 Memorable Movie Props

The Terminator (1984)

A Mexican boy takes a Polaroid of Linda Hamilton who is pregnant with her son, John Connor, who will save the world. So let me get this straight: Linda's adult son of the future has the photo that was taken when Linda was pregnant with him and his father was dead at the time of the photo. Yet, in the future, when John dies, fellow soldier Kyle takes the photo with him when he travels back in time to protect Linda from the Terminator so that John Connor can be born and save the world. Then we discover that young Kyle is John Connor's father. After all these years, I still don't get it.

Did you ever have a Polaroid camera?

  1. I didn't think John died when he sent Kyle back, I thought he just sent Kyle back to protect Sarah. I love these movies. My parents had a polaroid in the 60s and 70s. Who can forget waving the picture around to get it to develop?

  2. JoJo: I'm still confused...but c'est la vie! LOL. I have all my grandmother's and mother's old photographs and many are polaroids. Treasured mementos. Remember those flash cubes that you put on top!

  3. I loved that part of the film when the photograph came into it. It was so long ago though, I'm not sure if I understood it or not!

    1. Hi, Rebecca: I was totally confused but the movie was so good, it didn't really matter. Sarah Connor transformed from a wimpy waitress to a hard core superhero.

  4. John was sending the man he knew was his father back to conceive him - then die. A tough choice - but one that had to be made, if humanity was to survive. One of my all time favorite movies ever - one I could watch just about on a daily basis.
