Welcome to Skating Buffalo, my blog about movies. I want to share my passion and meet other movie fans on this amazing blog journey. So "fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night."
JM: I know what you mean. I've had several blogs at one time, but now I just have this one for movies and keep a separate journal (not online). I also have a professional website.
I loved this movie but I never, ever understood why John Dunbar left the journal at the fort when he moved in with the Lakota. That made no sense to me. You would think that would have been the one thing besides his horse that he took with him. When he returned for it, well, at that point is where I have to stop watching the movie b/c I just end up bawling till the end. I have many handwritten diaries/journals, dating back to 7th grade in 1977 but I haven't written in ages b/c I get writers cramp. I can type so much faster!
You are right about Dunbar leaving the journal behind. However, I don't know what else would have compelled him to return to the fort (and get captured and rescued). Story-wise and for necessary drama, it worked. I've been writing in journals since I was in high school.
Hi there! Someone in my Myspace group shared this website with us so I came to check it out. I'm definitely enjoying the information. I'm book-marking and will be tweeting this to my followers! Great blog and brilliant design and style.
